Thirsty Thursday: Drinks of Choice!

Happy Thursday, loves! With the Labor Day weekend coming up, I thought I'd share some of my favorite drinks! Whether out at happy hour, girls night, date night or on vacation - these are my go-to drinks of choice!

Cosmo: If I'm feeling fancy, I always opt for a cosmopolitan! It's the perfect drink for a well deserved girls night or a special date night!

Pina Colada: This is my go-to drink while lounging by the pool at the house or when we're on vacation! They just kept them coming on our honeymoon! :)

Cranberry Vodka: If I'm at happy hour, I will almost always get a cranberry vodka. My absolute favorite is when they serve white cranberry juice with vodka and top it with dried cranberries and a lime - YUM!

Fireball: Confession - I hadn't had Fireball until this past weekend... you know, our girls weekend in Nashville! We were out at the honky tonks and out came the Fireball shots!

Chardonnay: This is hands down my favorite wine and my go-to with dinner and/or a relaxing night of TV!

What are your favorite drinks? Have you tried Fireball? It's sort of amazing!

Taste of Tuesday: Kocktails & Kouture!

As you know, we had a girls weekend in Nashville this past weekend and the food was beyond amaze! One of my favorite restaurants that we went to was in The Gulch and had the perfect mix of glitz, glam and whimsy. I fell in love the moment we walked through the door. What restaurant you ask?! Kocktails and Kouture, which is right next to Bar Louie Nashville. We all got the small plates and shared which was the perfect amount! I had a blogger fail moment and didn't take a picture of the Lobster Guacamole - but it was too good to stop and do a photo-op... we literally inhaled it! You understand. Above we got the Shrimp and Pineapple Pizzetta, Mahi Tacos and the crab cakes - Can you say holy deliciousness?!

Oh - let's not forget about cocktails - I got the Devil Woman, you know, because I was feeling adventurous. It was basically a grapefruit margarita on the rock which was infused with jalapenos.. the perfect mix between sweet and spicy!

What are your favorite Nashville Restaurants? Have you been to Kocktails and Kouture? I'd love to hear your fav dishes from K&K for our next visit! :) HIGHLY recommend this restaurant for a girls dinner, work happy hour or a special date night with your main squeeze!

Best Weekend Ever: TX meets TN 2013!

This weekend was one for the record books - definitely one of the best weekends ever! Me, Ashley, Jordon and Allison had a girls weekend so we could turn our Blog BFF relationship into an in real life BFF relationship!! Nashville is the perfect city for a girls weekend and I can't wait to go back! They were just like their blogs and we got along great! I can truly say they are 3 of my very best friends!!! We are already planning our next adventure!! :)

We got to Nashville first thing on Friday morning and it was go-time! We were welcomed to TN with the cutest welcome package from the sassiest cutie, Jordon. She got all of us a Little Big Town record and a package full of Nashville goodies, which included a Fireball shot, coasters, soap, chocolates, postcards and much more. We also got a matching bracelets and initial necklaces from Ashley! SO cute!!

We might have been strolling the streets where they were in the middle of filming the TV show Nashville!

After catching up, we heading to The Country Music Hall of fame, where Reba and Carrie Underwood were showcased! So much fun! After that we headed to an early happy hour at The Southern, where we had the best oysters, fried green tomatoes and grits EVER!

Headed to Broadway for dinner, drinks and dancing!!

Day full of shopping, pedicures and gourmet popsicles!

Our last night in Nashville was pretty low-key - dinner and drinks at Kocktails & Kouture! This restaurant had the perfect atmosphere and the food was amazing! More on that tomorrow! :)

Back to reality and off to the doctor I go... woke up sick on Sunday, but my handsome hubby (of 1-yr!!!) took such good care of me! Boo for being sick on our anniversary!

Friday's Fab Favorites: Neutrals & Red!

Happy Friday, loves! I don't know about y'all, but I have been loving neutrals with red accents!

I instantly fell in love with this shift dress the moment I saw it online and I stalk Anthro daily to see when it's going to hit stores! It just screams fall and looks so adorbs on.. well on the model at least. Every girl needs a great pair of gold studs and these large logo TB's are perfection. I am dying over this red bag!! I even asked T to get this for me for our anniversary - hey, he asked what I wanted! ;) This would go with everything and is perfect for a simple day of shopping or a night on the town! I am slightly obsessed with a red lip now.. coming from the girl who never wears lipstick. I swear by Clinique's Chubby Stick.. it's like a mix of chapstick and lipstick - I'm sold. Leopard shoe's add the perfect va-va-voom to any outfit! I am wanting to add these pointy toe flats to my closet.. they'll go great next to my leopard stilettos!

Would you impress?

I saw this quote yesterday and it stopped me dead in my tracks. This really made me stop and think about me and the impact I have on the people in my life - both directly and indirectly. It's the perfect way to put your actions into perspective. So I'll leave you to it...

What are some of your favorite quotes? Have you seen this quote before? I'm thinking of framing this to go in our house...just as a daily reminder. :)

Happy Thursday!! I'm extra excited since today is my Friday {happy dances all around}!

Taste of Tuesday: Spaghetti Squash & Meat Sauce!

Tyler and I have been cutting down on our carbs, so we needed something to sub for pasta.. in comes the spaghetti squash. This didn't turn out to be the prettiest dish, but it tasted really good!! I think we cooked it too long (we did 35 minutes on 450 degrees), so it didn't quite look spaghetti - more like rice. This is definitely a new dish in our house! So good!

Ingredients:
- 1 Spaghetti Squash
- 1 pound of hamburger or turkey burger
- Olive Oil
- Marinara Sauce
- Salt & Pepper

Directions:
1. Cut spaghetti squash in half
2. Scoop the seeds out and salt pepper
3. Sprinkle olive oil on tin-foil wrapped pan and place squash face down
4. Place in oven (375 degrees) for 30 minutes
5. Remove from oven and shred with fork to make "spaghetti"

Since we made this on a weeknight, we very simple with the sauce - as in store bought. Add onion and hamburger meat to the pan. Once browned, add spaghetti sauce and simmer.

Have y'all tried spaghetti squash? I'd love to get your feedback on how you prepared it so it would actually look like spaghetti.

Weekend Shenanigans!

Happy Monday, friends! I'm not usually this enthusiastic about Monday's, but I'm ready to get this week started.. lots of things going on - good and exciting things! Our weekend was full of friends, family and relaxation.

Friday night I got home to this awesome package from Ashley! She is the sweetest and I have already used every single item that she sent in her Pay it Forward gift! Such a thoughtful gift! :) I love getting snail mail - it's the perfect way to brighten someone's day, especially when you're not expecting it!

Saturday was full of errands, lunch with my parents, visiting with my grandma and celebrating the besties birthday!

Sunday we went to brunch with one of Tyler's customers and then spent the rest of the day watching movies and catching up on the DVR. We went to RedBox and got Olympus has Fallen and Mud and we watched both of them in the same day.. which hasn't happened in a LONG time. I got up to switch out a movie and Riley took my spot... Can you tell by the guilty look on his face and how he wouldn't make eye contact? This little love bug is such a mess!

I am so pumped about this upcoming weekend!! And not just because it's mine and Tyler's 1-year anniversary on Sunday! :)

WIWW: graphic shift dress & a new 'do!

Happy hump day, friends!! I can't even begin to describe my love for this dress! I don't know what it is, but I have been gravitating to prints with actual animals or objects on them - Bears, bicycles, telephones, actual zebras (not the print) - you name it and I'm loving it! I'm also partial to the shift style - this dress is the perfect combination of shift and structure (and it comes in 2 other patterns)!

I also decided to chop off my hair! 7 inches GONE and it feels so good. I might even take a few more inches off at my next appointment...who knows!

Do you see my cute little photo bomber?!

Taste of Tuesday: Tortilla Roll-Ups!

Hi Loves! I cannot even believe that pre-season has started.. where has the summer gone?! Not that I'm complaining or anything - I LOVE football season! And it means that fall is right around the corner. So with football season quickly approaching, I thought I'd share one of my favorite game day appetizers! This is my aunt's specialty and is SO good and one of the easiest things to whip up!

What you'll need:
- 1/3 - 1/2 cup of salsa (depending on the consistency you like)
- 1 package of cream cheese
- 1 package of tortillas
- 1 Serrano pepper, diced (optional)

Directions:
1. Combine softened cream cheese and salsa.
2. Mix well until the lumps are gone and you get the consistency you are looking for. Should be a peach color.
3. Spread mixture on torilla
4. Roll tortillas and place on a dish, rolled part down.
5. Cover with foil and refrigerate for 1-2 hours (the longer they sit the better).
6. Cut into slices and serve!
